Who is Varsha Gaikwad?
Varsha Gaikwad was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Dharavi constituency in Mumbai. She has been actively involved in working towards the development and welfare of her constituency. In addition to her role as an MLA, Varsha Gaikwad has held several key positions in the Maharashtra government.
From 2019 to 2020, she served as the Minister of School Education, Sports and Youth Welfare in the Maharashtra government. During her tenure, she focused on improving the quality of education, infrastructure, and overall development of schools in the state. She has also been involved in promoting sports and youth welfare initiatives.
Varsha Gaikwad is appointed as the president of the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee (MRCC) by congress party. Speculations suggest that Varsha Gaikwad’s appointment is influenced by the upcoming BMC elections, where Dalit votes hold significant sway in several wards. She belongs to an Ambedkarite Buddhist family. Earlier she worked as a lecturer in Siddharth College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Mumbai.
